The one and only New York team - the Buffalo Bills - is in the playoffs. The faux New York team which actually plays in New Jersey - the “New York” Giants - is in the playoffs. The other faux New York team - the “New York” Jets - will have to wait for another year.
The Jets haven’t really been a force in the NFL since Willie “Joe” Namath so it’s no surprise.
It sounds okay, then.
When hometown teams stopped having farm teams, and started trading players like shuffling cards, I lost all interest in professional sports.
My last favorite player was Willie Stargill. He ducked away from a wild pitch, which was then called a strike after the ball struck his bat going by.
The look on his face was just — priceless.
The Bills look very good... they could go far... hopefully the G-Men go out quickly...
As far as the Jets post-Namath, I remember that they had a good defense for a period (sometime in the 1990s?) and they were known as the NY Sack Exchange...
