Most stands shut down after Labor day but at least three that we know of have put up signs directing people to go to the girl's stand. They plan to keep it open until November 1 to finish off the garden and sell the apples and pumpkins and other fall produce.
Friend's Mom says that this has been the best lesson in practical economics they could have had and, like me, she is looking forward to their having to pay their income taxes. Hehehehe.
She will be adding fresh donuts to the menu when the cider comes in. We will have to keep close track of how much we are making because if you make beyond a certain amount of profit on prepared food other regulations kick in.
This will be my last regular Saturday at the store until school is out, otherwise we would never have a day when all of us are off.
Indeed, it will be paying dividend to them for the rest of their lives!
Enjoy those upcoming Saturdays!
