Heartaches abound. I am sorry.
I met a guy yesterday day who has not spoken with his children in years. That guy was younger than I am, but he said that his oldest is almost 50. That seems incredible to me. He must have gotten his girl knocked up while they were in High School. My kids are considerably younger than his.
I likely would not live long without a deep relationship with my kids. We are all pretty tight, though it has become rare for us to be together at once.
I understand that situations arise, but I would be seriously troubled without a good relationship with my kids.
