I guess they ignore all the Sephardic synagogues built as people fled the Inquisition. In fairness, all are in one state of ruin or another.

That said, given Las Vegas NM has 19 days of water left, I bet this can be bought cheap.

I was just in NM and they were okay with rainfall. All of the “fire danger” signs were in the “low” category. Are you thinking of Las Vegas, NV?

Kinda, kinda not. They haven’t had water shortages in the nearly 200 years they have been around. Their lake is in good shape too. Things are very green around there for the end of the summer. They just want to do some water treatment for that lake water.
Knowing that area, the locals are angling for some federal money to do that. They will probably get it since the Federal Government caused that giant forest fire in that area. But there really isn’t a water shortage in the way other people around the world would define it.
This is some old Spanish land grant mentality happening mostly.
