The protest at Wenceslas Square in the city center was held a day after the government survived a no-confidence vote amid opposition claims of inaction against inflation and energy prices.
Organizers of the demonstration...said the central European nation should be neutral militarily and ensure direct contracts with gas suppliers, including Russia.
The vote showed how Europe’s energy crisis is fueling political instability as soaring power prices stoke inflation, already at levels unseen in three decades.
Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who leads the center-right, five-party coalition, told CTK news service on Saturday that "The protest on Wenceslas Square was called by forces that are pro-Russian, are close to extreme positions..."

A five-party coalition? At least they’ve got that diversity thing down pat.
22 parties came out of the fall 2021 mess. Eight of them were brand new parties out of thin air. Whole campaign was about pro-Covid and anti-Covid policies...almost nothing else.
One can probably agree, there is a fair amount of influence coming in from Russia and social media is hyping discontent about the economy and energy issues. I would suggest that the coalition government will probably fall by spring of 2023.
How are they fixed for fuel?
If the GOP founders this is the sort of tricks the establishment will engage in to keep the progressive-queer-demorats in power.
I hope there are many really big and violent protests this winter in Europe over the gas shut off. I mean violent on the level of the Axel Springer commie riots in Germany in 1968
This is how the EU will probably die this winter, when member governments are compelled by internal pressure to abandon EU sanctions and make bi-lateral agreements with Putin for energy.
If they are demonstrating now, before it gets cold, wait till it DOES get cold. The people might get downright hostile, and WILL hold their own government’s responsible. Can anyone say, violent riots?
Spring 2022, it was something like 95 to 98 percent of natural gas coming from Russia. Their goal by this fall was to cut about one-third of that....finding some competition. So, they are in a dire situation and I’d say it’s better than 50-percent chance the coalition government will fail by early 2023....with another election.
But instead of a 95-percent chance of Covid being the only election topic....it’ll be a 95-percent chance of nationalizing the grid and natural gas...with no politician really able to explain how you’d fix this.
Without really planning this, Putin has undermined almost every single European country. Even these Green Parties are in dire trouble because there’s no relief unless you accept fracking, nuke energy, and coal-power plants.
the people will not freeze
the people will warm themselves by the bonfire
What will the fuel for the bonfire be?
Not wanting to freeze to death in Winter is an “extreme” position.
I think it comes from the same idea, as telling the truth, in a time of universal deceit.
Just usual Russian planned operatives orchestrated and funded to
destroy the West .
Just like the Cold War demonstrations.
All Russians need to be sent back to that Hell .
If Trump were POTUS it wouldn’t be so bad. We all know that. Do any of you think that the average American voter is aware of what’s happening in a country they couldn’t locate on a map?
The EU bans fracking so they are all screwed. In theory, they could have gone into the Romania oil fields last spring and started fracking them - like we did in the Permian, and they’d have gas coming out of their ears, at least long enough to outlast Putin.
Russia has been rejecting radical socialism/communism as they realized it doesn’t work. On the other hand, the west has done just the opposite embracing this crap and are in the process of committing suicide and sure don’t need any Russian help doing it as they are doing it to themselves.
Ha ha ha.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....
Ah....no.
No, no, no. You don't understand. They're all white, therefore there is no diversity whatsoever. Diversity has nothing to do with points of view, it's totally about skin color.
I’m sure people posting their obscenely large utility bills online are also Russian disinformation. /s
