Exactly what I remarked to my wife when we tuned in to ESPN for 5 minutes and saw Serena (un-ranked) in a match...during Prime Time...playing against the #2 player in the world.
I was hoping she'd lose and we'd never have to see her again. No such luck.
I never watched it.. I wonder if I missed something?
There are two obstacles. They have to be overcome before she can be held to the same standard as everyone else. They’re her two certified victim cards.
Sports journalists are the worst when it comes to racial pandering.
They seem to really enjoy poor sportsmanship, unless you are a frizzy-haired redhead then you become the guy everyone tunes in to see get beat.
It appears the entire women’s field is going to tank to give the beast one last pity win.
The over-the-top tributes to Serena Williams this week have made the US Open unwatchable (some may say who watches tennis anyway?). It’s across all media, even on my local sports talk show. Forgotten are her outbursts, her boorish behavior, the fact that she never (or rarely) evinced good sportmanship. I can’t wait for her to be knocked out in singles. Someone has to have the guts to do it. C’mon ladies! Sen her fat a** home! Her sister on the other hand I have no problem with.
Venus seems very different personality wise than Serena.

You can take the girl out of the ghetto ...
She sure is the darling of TV.
She’s in half the commercials.
Her sister seems to have gone by the wayside.
Except, of course, for the movie about them last year.
I guess the ghetto never leaves.
Another excellent Phil Mushnick column.
My Gawd! They should be nominated for sainthood!
The US OPEN is unwatchable this year, has gone full woke, actually I renamed it, The Serena Closed. Annet Kontveit, was absolutely frozen playing Serena the other night. I honestly believe she was terrified of what was happening in the stadium, the audience was THE worst I have ever seen, screaming during points, booing her and I almost have to believe if Konveit had won the match they would have rushed the court and ripped her apart. Last night, for the first time ever, their prime time match was a first round womens double event, starring Venus and Serena. Because of that, they delayed Nadals match for well over and hour.
Skin color is all that matters.
Was Serena talking to her white husband when she said that? //
Tennis has always pandered to boorish but superb players.
Sounds like I’m not missing much by not watching tennis.
ABC World News Tonight has been slobbering over princess serena every night this week. Unwatchable.
