My Mom made all of our “jammies” when we were kids. We always had nice, fluffy terrycloth robes, too. She and her BFF used to dress us four girls (Me & Sis, Betty & Bonnie) alike at every holiday in pretty hand-made dresses.

Our Christmas blue velvet dresses with the lace collars were our absolute favorites, though our Easter dresses were always pretty, too. ‘The Grandmas’ provided fancy hats, gloves, tights, and white patent-leather shoes and purses to complete the ensembles. :)

Great memories! Wish I still had those dresses, but they got passed down to younger Cousins. Waste not, want not!

One ‘heirloom’ I plan on grabbing in a fire is a quilt my Grandma made that has leftover scraps of clothing in it from all of us through the years. Again, great memories.

Handcrafted ‘anything’ leaves behind great memories! :)

All that handwork was an act of love. When I see a grandkid in something I made, I feel like I am with them, even if they are far away.
