Eli Palfreyman, 20, collapsed in the Ayr Centennials dressing room during the first intermission of an Ayr Mutual Global Invitational tournament game and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
"On Tuesday August 30th, 2022, Waterloo Regional Police responded to a medical emergency at the North Dumfries Community Centre hockey arena located in the Township of North Dumfries," said Cherri Greeno of the Waterloo Regional Police Service. “Members of the community assisted the individual until emergency services attended. The individual was transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital where he was, unfortunately, pronounced deceased.”
Needless to say, the game was cancelled and all scheduled games and activities halted surrounding the tournament, which featured six junior-aged teams, including Jungadler Mannheim from Germany.
One of the players in the tournament was Palfreyman, who was announced as Centennials captain before the game. Drafted in the 12th round by the Peterborough Petes of the OHL in 2018, at 6-foot-2 and close to 200 pounds, the Cambridge, Ont. native was considered a talented power forward with great scoring touch and even better leadership skills.
“We are asking for your prayers and support for Eli’s family and each of our players,” said a statement from the team. “Our Centennial’s organization and the community of Ayr are in mourning. We have reached out to mental health and grief professionals to support our players and staff.”
It is needed.
“The whole town is quiet today,” said one resident. “This has shaken everybody. That team and those players are loved here. They are a big part of the community and are often seen helping people or serving coffee at the Tim Hortons.”
Palfreyman was one the most popular.
“As a community we are saddened and mourn the loss of this young man along with our Ayr Centennials, and the family,” said Ayr Mayor Sue Foxton. “There are no words. Just profound sorrow. We are a community, when one hurts we all hurt.”
Things are fresh on just what happened but one source close to the team told the Toronto Sun that the captain was not feeling well after the first period and, upon hearing this, coaches went to the stands for assistance from paramedics at the game, which included a doctor who was affiliated with the visiting team, the Boston Jr. Bruins from Marlborough, Mass.
“They tried everything they could,” said a source.
In a statement, Centennials vice president Brian Shantz wrote “Eli had the best of care from our medical staff and quick response from the ambulatory staff.”
It’s too early to determine the cause of this horrible tragedy.
“Out of respect for the family’s right for privacy we will not speculate on anything at this very difficult time,” wrote Shantz. “Medical doctors will have more answers for us in the coming days … Cents nation also needs time to heal during this devastating time.”
Palfreyman, who wore number 17, is from neighbouring Cambridge and a player and person highly liked and respected by the whole community.
With tears and profound sadness, we offer our deepest condolences to his family, his teammates and the whole amazing Ayr community.
Those who are still trying to justify their decision to get jabbed will be along any minute with a million imaginary excuses for why yet another healthy young person suddenly dropped dead.
The idiotic Canucks probably tried to revive him with a COVID shot.
and the vaxholes be like... “ha, ha, ha... young adults die all the time... ha, ha, ha”
At some point the insurers are going to force the cancellation of sports (and other physical activity) due to these injuries.
Seems most of the younger ones are athletes. OR maybe because athletes are high profile (even in high school) and often are dying in front of a crowd, the media has to report it. Males me wonder, how many low profile youths are dying?
UNKNOWN and UNEXPECTED are leading causes of death these days for young athletes.
“At some point the insurers are going to force the cancellation of sports (and other physical activity) due to these injuries.”
Or maybe use the act of war or terrorism clause that is in many policies.
Maybe they can consult with the 23 dead young Canadian doctors on the cause of death.
One Doc’s explanation is that the spike proteins cause the sack around the heart to swell up. So that during exertion the heart gives out.
The more vaxxes you get, the more chances you are taking. This obviously includes boosters
_____________
Pericardium
According to 2 sources
When you have pericarditis, the membrane around your heart is red and swollen, like the skin around a cut that becomes inflamed. The pericardium is a thin, two-layered, fluid-filled sac that covers the outer surface of your heart.
23 young dead Canadian doctors? Are you sure? Last time I looked it was six. Two died of cancer diagnosed a year ago.
There was a recent news article here on FR.
It’s up to over 20.
You are correct. Steve Kirsch put out a somewhat overblown article this morning showing a 23X higher death rate among young Canadian doctors, comparing this last year to 2020 (or maybe it was 2021). Although I believe the CoVid shots might as well have been spawned in hell (they do little to protect people, and they bring a host of negative side effects), this 23X number was a bit sensationalized. He showed 6 young doctors dying in 2 weeks, vs 6 young doctors dying in all of 2020. Thus the "23X" higher death rate factor. That's a bit of a premature calculation. I.e., if 138 young doctors die in 2022 - I'll concede the 23X number. Right now, I'd just call it the same number of deaths - albeit the 2022 deaths all occurred within 2 weeks - so we should closely monitor the data.
Also, I would not completely dismiss the deaths due to cancer, even though they were diagnosed a year earlier. Dr. Ryan Cole claims that he has seen cancers accelerated on those who have received the CoVid shots.
But you are correct, 6 deaths - not 23.
Thanks for the correction. Yes, I was referring to the Steve Kirsch article earlier today.
I would expect the media to not report it, if true.
There’s been nothing honest about anything connected to Covid since it was manufactured.
“Unknown” is the leading cause of death in the province of Alberta. More than cancer, more than cardiovascular disease. 26 weeks now.
Peak ratio of actual deaths to expected is males age 15 (CY 2021). This peak was unheard of before 2Q 2021. Associate, Society of Actuaries.
“how many low profile youths are dying?”
Probably about 25 for every famous one.
Before they halt all Death Vaxes, we may lose 5% of men under 40 to sudden death, and another 20% of everyone to chronic injury and significant life shortening.
That’s going to be kind of hard to hide. But they’re pretty good at burying any stories that contradict the designated narrative.
Unless they succeed in hanging it around Trump’s neck, which has started. Trump needs to stop taking credit for the vax. It’s going to bite him bad.
Steve Kirsch claims a lot of things. 30 “young” doctors died in Canada in a year? Out of over 92,000? So? No names, no cause of death, claims of “genocide”, etc.
How does he define “young”? In another of his blog posts about this, one “young” doctor was 50. That is young to die, but it’s not what we normally think of as as young.
The source he is using is the CMA’s Memoriam page. The obituaries are submitted by families (or, I suppose, colleagues). Out of the six doctors he listed as dying in 2022 in another blog post, only one appears on the CMA Memorial page. Obviously, not all Canadian physician deaths are listed on the Memoriam page.
It’s a fairly new feature on the CMA website, so it stands to reason fewer would have known about it and submitted obituaries last year vs this year, etc., yet he uses this as his source for his claims? There could easily be variations in the number of deaths in one year vs another for all kinds of reasons, as it’s “user generated” data, not an accurate count of deaths.
As it’s dependent on submissions, and does not list all physician deaths, it’s useless for comparing one year’s number of deaths to another. Sorry, simply not a reliable data source at all. But such things have never stopped Kitsch from making wild claims.
It’s a classic case of “use faulty data, get wrong answers” aka GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). Typical of Kirsch.
