Police identify persons of interest in wild Brampton sword fight (Ontario, Canada)

A day after frightening video of a sword-swinging fight in Brampton emerged online, Peel regional police Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich said investigators have identified persons of interest in the melee.

“I can confidently say that the investigation is progressing well and we anticipate holding those people accountable,” Milinovich said Tuesday while showing off more than $12 million in seized drugs from a separate probe.

I think the Author-Ah-Tees got it bass-ackwards: looked like one person (Sikh) with a blade defending himself against an Amish mob; not, “a person with a weapon attacking a group of people.”

This seems lame.

Looks like a mob just fighting, complete with kicking heads and beating with implements, but they’re focused on the swords - typical.

Seems there MIGHT only have been 2 swords in that whole group, and most of the time not used. While lots of kicking and yanking goes on.

But only the “weapon” counts - whatever is the best weapon, media and “authorities” treat THAT as the biggest criminal.

They looked like Sikhs to me, and they might be carrying. They didn’t seem to be doing much regarding cutting down people or really attacking them - more defensive.

Why you say that?

First, it looks defensive.

2nd, they look like Sikhs. Not Moslems. Sikhs you can tell because of how neat and clean their headgear is - and how high. Moslems who wear headgear invariably look like they just grabbed it out of the gutter and meat grinder.

I always enjoyed the sword fights between Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone, like in Robin Hood and Captain Blood. Of course, Flynn always won in the film world, but in real life, Rathbone was an accomplished fencer who tutored the novice Flynn in order to make the fights better.
