weird al is doing for music biopics that he’s done for music... parody. he was not that cool... weird al will probably wake up in bed at the end, with bob newhart.
I graduated HS in 1987 and a couple of years before that a teacher had us paid up and write a satirical song to current lyrics.
My partner and I wrote…”Every Chore You Make”. It was an ode to our parents.

With his help I wrote/edited an Al fanzine for several years. It’s shocking to see some of those years are covered in this film! It was a brilliant idea to get Daniel Radcliffe to play Al —- it may introduce Al to a whole new generation of Radcliffe fans.
Hilariously, in this "biopic", they're making him out to have been a booze-drenched trainwreck who was banging Madonna.
I'm sure that's part of the joke!

I recall on Sunday evenings in the mid Seventies, listening to the Dr. Demento show. (KMET 94.7) Weird Al would hand deliver his tapes and the Doctor would do the rest. Good times.

Early in Prince’s career, Al wrote several letters to him, asking permission to make parodies of his hit songs. Prince never responded. One day, Al happened to walk past Prince who was leaving a studio building. Al revived the topic of making a Prince parody.
Prince stared at Al and sort of whispered “You steal people’s souls in your work!!” . Prince kept walking, entered his limo and was quickly driven away.

I just rewatched his “The Saga Begins”. This time I noticed that at 2:30 one of the dancing aliens is doing the “Batusi”. Such DETAIL!
