A fine and simple explanation cogently presented.

The "green" Left is unable to grasp this, because they believe in "somebody else."

Somebody else should bear the costs, pay the taxes, provide the work, and so on. It is a NIMBY writ large, in which someone else should also fight the wars, build the businesses, staff the shops, butcher the meat and pick the grain. All that "somebody else" will do the Left will happily take away as best they can. Such is the nature of the Left. And then say how much they "care." About confiscating from others, because the other is always somebody else. Not them.

Depopulation is the planned regulator of this.

If you have never been, you should make a point of taking a tour of a steel mill or a glass factory. Feel the heat coming off the molten steel or glass and it will begin to sink in how much energy underpins the modern world we live in. And how woefully inadequate “renewables” are at meeting those needs.

A switch to renewables would return us to, at best, a 19th-Century standard of living.
