Not bizarre at all and you're not alone on that. It's just that most people have near-death experiences so profound they either can't communicate them well not being erudite or fear being ridiculed as a nut. I purposely took nearly every drug available in my youth trying to see if any led to a higher plane of enlightenment.

Of course none of that actually did but the experiences, especially the hideously bitter peyote you have to chew, forces you to see yourself through and through in a detached way - amongst a lot of other amusing stuff. Hallucinogens are for tough people so are rightfully warned about.

Warped me out so bad (not) I quit college and joined the Army, eventually becoming a hyper-conservative our modern government considers a domestic terrorist. You are too if you keep frequenting this site.

I never had an experience where I died and lived again to tell about it. But I do take Jesus word for it. So I have learned to pray in his name.

The flat out best sermons you’ll hear in the USA are preached at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg VA. Its not just about the home pastor. He brings through a parade of the best preachers from around the country. A lot of the lawyers who worked on the supreme court case to overturn Roe V Wade —attend that church. You can google Cornerstone and pull up the sermons.

I just started attending that church in the last two years after my previous church went woke. Its a terrible thing to go to a church where you feel like a crazy guy. And a great relief to worship and pray among people who think like you do.
