Harley’s colors are atrocious...............

It’s not just Harley’s. This “primer gray” color is showing up on cars and SUVs. I really don’t understand of all the possible color choices why manufactures have latched onto this particular color. It looks like the base coat *before* you lay down the color coat. The only colors that would look worse, in my opinion, would be zinc chromate green or perhaps iron oxide red.

A guy where I used to work painted his 75 Camaro with out-of-date Zinc Chromate, (we were a military sub-contractor so it couldn’t be used), it looked pretty cool, actually!.....................

I just bought a Hyundai Elantra and that was a color choice. Hyundai called it "Electric Shadow". I didn't go with it, but it looked decent on the Elantras. It does well showing angles and creases in a design.

It's all about the sales pipeline. Most cars are either Black or White. Then comes silver. Colors appeal to too few on an individual level.
