Some part of me wishes that my relatives would wise up and leave the state. But I understand if they choose to stay.

I showed this to my liberal relative near Modesto.
She said “I wish they would all leave”. I’m sure meaning all conservatives. I thought about asking her how they would do with just leftists, druggies and illegal immigrants. But she is 70 and in fairly poor health so I let it drop.

Californians, please stay where you are and fix it. We need a good California, not the wreck you live in now.
You got that right. It's like everywhere, all the time. The first wave of people with the means to escape a failed state are always going to be 94% those who ravaged that state in the first place. They are the fungus in the brew tying to escape their own ferment. Then by the time everyone else follows them they've already started the work ruining the new destination.
Following them around is not the answer. The country only has so much turf. Fungicide is the only way out of the cycle.
