Akila Academy is a commercial, for profit, charter school as are about 80% of post Katrina NOLA schools. This is a cultural issue, the girls seems to come from a middle class black family. Blacks as a cohort frequently display behaviors that white people of a lower socio economic level would consider depraved. Black America has become a very bad place in the last 50 years as a result of most blacks becoming full fledged converts to the Religion of Politics and in no city is it more pronounced than New Orleans where the really impressive material improvements in the the lives of black New Orleanians has been matched by a decline into true cultural depravity.

The wise thing to do then would be to supplement your child’s homeschooling with martial arts classes for their eventual foray out into The Jungle. Weapons training would probably also benefit them.
