The question answers itself. The FBI Wokestapo is actively leaning into Gestapo/Stasi/KGB tactics, from the director's suite to the field offices. When the Michigan arrests were made, the bogus fednapping was considered a model for future FBI Wokestapo operations. D'Antuono's promotion just in time to coordinate the J-6 "Great Buffalo Jump" was intentional, and it was a clear signal to every other Field Office SAC and ASAC that Gestapo/Stasi tactics would be richly rewarded.
