The Pentagon has denied a second request by Washington DC's mayor to help receive migrants arriving from Republican-led states Texas and Arizona.
Mayor Muriel Bowser in July called for the deployment of the District of Columbia National Guard to help with migrants describing it as a 'humanitarian crisis'.
Bowser asked for 90-day deployment and for a review at the end of that period, but the request was denied by the U.S. military.
She repeated her request on August 11 - this time providing a specific 90-day timeline that would begin on August 22.
In a letter sent to Bowser, the Pentagon citing several reasons for not agreeing to the request including the D.C. National Guard not have any specific training or experience in providing facility management for such a mission that would include feeding, sanitation, or ground support to migrants.
The letter added that it would have a 'substantial' impact on the readiness of the troops in D.C.
In her request, Bowser said most of the migrants bused to D.C. don't stay in the area, and only need assistance for about 72 hours.
U.S. military officials have privately said for the past few years that they are being used for tasks that should be done by civilian agencies and troops should only be used as a last-resort for domestic issues.
The mayor's initial request had frustrated some White House officials who thought Bowser, a Democrat, could handle the issue without military troops and was playing into Republican political attacks on President Joe Biden, a fellow Democrat.

Yes, something doesnāt add up. Maybe itās not legal for the Guard to do this, but when was the last time the rats š ever worried about whether or not something was legal.
Clampdown is, of course, a necessary step toward dictatorship.
Abbott & Ducey have a sizeable National Guard that the can and do use. DC’s NG force is fairly small, so perhaps she is asking for NG support from other jurisdictions?
One element of this story which isn’t laid out...when you typically ask the Guard to help, there is a timeline. You generally expect to use them for a couple of weeks.
In this case, the DC crowd wanted the free labor for more than a couple of weeks. I would be guessing that DC request something to the effect of 90 days. Then you would naturally ask how this would end, and we’d get told a second request for an additional 90 day period.
I add this...having lived in that region for a couple of years. The DC homeless scam is run to help the black derelict community primary, the junkies, and the mental issue crowd. If you were to inject 2,000 Latinos (especially those under 18) into the system, the black community would raise a big stink that they were not getting their privilege’s.
Next election for mayor is November of this year. Bowser (current mayor) ought to win. The chief problem in this election...there is a Green Party candidate running, and their primary theme is statehood. Bowser on statehood, has gotten nowhere. Bowser ought to win, but there’s going to be a lot of talk about this statehood issue, and the Latinos.
NG should only be called out to restore order in cases of anarchy, burning of buildings, and mass looting as in 2020. They are not to be used for fighting everyday crime.

Her stupidity played perfectly into Republican hands.....as Bowowser amplified JoJo Biden, a fellow Democrat’s slimy migrant voting scheme.

The other thing they fear is a political standoff where Republican governors flat-out refuse to send NG troops to the District of Columbia.

The illegals are heading into MD (Montgomery County) and VA (Arlington/Alexandria/Fairfax) where housing is cheaper and they can hook up with their MS13 compatriots. Very few are staying in the city. They have a bigger issue in NY where the burbs are more expensive and the city is giving them free everything.

Typical dramatic overreaction because of politics. DC is sanctuary for illegals, no? Should have had a plan in place instead of trying to dump it off on the National Guard.
They need to drop off the invaders in Chevy chase and Potomac and in Georgetown. The bus station itself is too far from those who need enlightenment.
I believe that is part of the reason for the Simba attacks on Chinese in NYC; the new imports are entering newer public housing units and the Simbas believe they are entitled to them (as they’ve been in the same crumbling buildings for decades).
