He was also “Red Cloak” (the host of the secret society ceremony) in Eyes Wide Shut.
This guy had the smoothest moves ever.
His Lord Bullingdon role is an all time epic performance.
Agreed. Some of his lines had NLP/Ericksonian hypnotic induction structures, like those used by pick-up artist types at the time.
“You may be surprised to find yourself...”
“See with a new set of eyes...”
Dr Strangelove: Mildly interesting
2001: Classic
The Shining: Not impressed
Full Metal Jacket: Classic
I bought the 4K version of Sparticus, having seen comments that it's a great film *and* that the 4K version is amazing. But I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
“My opinion of the Kubick films I’ve seen:”
Did you ever see
“A Giant Leap for Mankind?”
Eyes Wide Shut,
Red Cloak——REVEALED!
.
RIP
Just keep in mind that blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo played fast and loose with the historical facts in an attempt to draw parallels with the Roman Republic and the Hollywood blacklist. Still a great epic film. I have not gone 4K but I do have the restored Blu-ray (there was an earlier Blu-ray that was an abomination). The restored Blu-ray looks and sounds great and I am sure the 4K does as well. I also saw the film when it was released theatrically after its restoration.
If you like film noir, Kubrick's The Killing is quite worthwhile, IMO.
Highly recommend Paths of Glory.
If you’ve not seen it, Barry Lyndon is excellent.
OK serious question, girls... Was that guy attractive (at all) or creepy as heck?
I watched that movie and was embarrassed to be the same species as that guy. Is that type real or a parody?
I remember reading Anthony Burgess's A Clockwork Orange and then going to see the original X rated version when it was released for a week or so in high school. Stunning and true to the book, except the last non-US published last chapter.
And 2001 years earlier and Dr. Strangelove before that.
I just wish he could have completed AI instead of having Spielberg finishing it.
explain?
That Character creeped me out,,,everytime!
.
Kubrick was a Genius that way. He’s a Favorite.
Paths,,,
With Kirk,,,YES!
“A Giant Leap for Mankind?”
His finest! Lol!
