They won’t stop until they perform several serious cullings.

You would think self preservation would prevent them from doing this kind of work but there are a couple of things that come into play here. Most scientists and/or those in the medical fields don't believe in God or the sanctity of life, hence no concern for aborting millions of babies.

Most also believe that humans are the scourge of the earth via 'climate change', all humans, including themselves. You have people in some countries offing themselves with assisted suicide already. Who's to say if the people playing games with these viruses feel that their own lives don't matter?

"If I die too, so be it. We're all going to die soon from climate change anyway."

Others are taking a different route but still playing God by genetically altering plants and animals and they're itching to do the same with humans. They think they can improve on God's creations and don't seem to be worried about unintended consequences.
