Minneapolis police say a man is in the hospital with serious injuries after he shot back at three people who tried to rob him Friday afternoon in the city’s Phillips neighborhood.
According to a Minneapolis Police Department spokesman, officers responded to a report of a shooting at around 2:07 p.m. near the intersection of 22nd Street East and 10th Avenue South. A man with “potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds” was given first aid before medics took him to the hospital.
Investigators say the man was walking to his car when three males approached him and demanded his keys and phone. One of them pointed a gun at him.
The man ran away from the group as shots were fired toward him, and he returned fire. The group then fled the scene.
A man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound later turned up at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Police say they’re working to find out if he’s connected with the shooting on 10th Avenue.
3 on 1 odds and he still managed to wing at least one of the bad guys.

Another retarded headline - implying that it was returning fire that put him in the hospital.
Serious problems with this article. It is journalistic malpractice. The headline wants you to think that the innocent guy fired at the assailants and that that firing caused him to go to the hospital.
A lie. The body of the article says shots were fired at the victim, and that he returned fire. Nothing said about what happened after the victim returned fire, so I conclude that the criminals did not shoot back at that time.
The purpose of the lie is to convince the reader that innocent people should not shoot to defend themselves from armed assailants, but should give in willingly to their new masters.
The police can sit him down and scare him into ratting out his pals. It pays to carry heat.
I’d place my bet on Somalis.
As usual, the local media reports this story and credits the station as the author. Based on the writing, I’m guessing an unpaid intern.
All the while, sending out the rest of their staff to find out if the victim had a valid carry permit.
I’ll be watching this one...

Unrelated but good from Rohn: In my home state of Idaho a really large number of people fleeing California are moving there. But in Idaho they say: Stay home. Stay out of here. Don’t bring your politics to ruin our state.
Wonder what color of skin they were wearing? How do the police they know they were males? Were pronouns established before the shooting?
I’m sure the implication was intentional. You defend yourself and you get hurt.
Yes. The headline is factually correct but misleading because of that implication.
Minneapolis is a very liberal city. People regularly rob each other, and steal from each other. They liberally take advantage of each other.
