Now, consider this quote: “There is nothing more painful to me . . . than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.” That wasn’t from John Sununu. That was Rev. Jesse Jackson in 1993. But as the AP poll on racial attitudes shows, Jackson’s wince-worthy remark continues to resonate today. Would that we could talk about this sensitive issue without some whites getting hysterical about it.

Painful truth.
The only time Jesse has been honest
Yeah, it certainly begs the question.
Why exactly was that statement by Jackson “wince worthy”? Wince worthy for who? Liberal whites? He doesn’t say, yet in the same breath installs something about hysterical whites.
Notice in your post you’ve incorporated the “Blacks with a Capital B” thing. Just an observation, it is insidious.
“Rare” is relative. Whites are 9 times more likely to be killed by Blacks than the reverse. What does that mean considering the relatively small demographic slice involved - males age 13 to 34 or whatever. Maybe 4% of the population committing roughly 50% of violent crime?
That’s insane. Also note for crime reporting gathering statistics, Hispanic perpetrators are considered to be White, they aren’t tracked in their own classification.
Anyone who says that telling the truth is “wince worthy” based on the color of your skin, is the one who is racist.
