You know a writer has hit a chord when several women across the political spectrum send you the same essay, all of them commenting that it is a great essay and that young women in America should read it. The writer is Bridget Phetasy, a writer and stand-up comedian, and the essay is Phetasy’s rejection of the hook-up culture that leftists foist on young American women.
Phetasy puts the core issue right there in her essay’s title: “I Regret Being A Slut.” What triggered her writing the essay was a new book by Louise Perry entitled The Case Against The Sexual Revolution: A new guide to sex in the 21st century. According to the description on Amazon, Perry
argues that the amoral libertinism and callous disenchantment of liberal feminism and our contemporary hypersexualised culture represent more loss than gain. The main winners from a world of rough sex, hook-up culture and ubiquitous porn – where anything goes and only consent matters – are a tiny minority of high-status men, not the women forced to accommodate the excesses of male lust.
For Phetasy, born in 1978, making her a member of Gen X, the book struck a deep chord. For the past four years, Phetasy, who is now happily married and has a child, has been having a reckoning with her own sexual past. Despite writing a sex-positive column for Playboy, her big regret isn’t simply sleeping with so many men without loving any of them. Instead, it’s the lies she told herself to support that sexual lifestyle: “The lie I told myself for decades was: I’m not in pain—I’m empowered.”

The problem is that she’s gen x and that’s they last somewhat sane generation sexually. These millennials are nuts and the zoomers are a tad better.
Women usually only get religion like this after they’ve hit the all.
Try that one today? They would tear you from limb to limb and file a lawsuit against the university.
“...the women forced to accommodate the excesses of male lust.”
Women are the gateway to sex. They can say yes or no. It’s up to them.
Women lose sensitivity both physically and mentally by having casual sex, finding it difficult to be stimulated or to return love to men who love.
Or they can each retain sensitivity while holding out for a man who loves. Love is a verb. Or they can go on to live the latter parts of their lives alone, while the men who love go on to find younger women who love.
It’s a woman’s choice.

Exactly what a cheap or even not so cheap whore becomes. I recall reading so where a successful call girl writing she was incapable of loving any human being and the only thing she looked forward to as age had retired her from ‘the life’ is managing her investment portfolio and working with shelter dogs.
Just who is foisting this hookup culture on American woman.Nobody from what I have seen.
It appears that American woman are volunteering to hookup on their own at their own pleasure.
From what I’ve seen on some Youtube videos there are some woman who are proud of the fact that they have hooked up with multiple partners during a week’s time.
It’s been said men’s “excesses of lust’ over time requires male use of viagra in order to perform without flatlining.
The women chase the top 10% of guys until they reach 30 or so, then they start being willing to settle for one of the 90%. The problem is, too many are not happy with their choice and the subsequent marriage is an unhappy one for them. They always think they deserved on of the top 10%. Some of the 90% of guys are figuring it out and are walking away from marriage.
Good story....
In a dept I worked a 20 something attractive gal talked about difficulty getting things on with her latest guy saying he was too small ..... Well I heard about enough and said... “Perhaps the problem isn’t he’s too small”
The aghast sounds echoed from one gal in that huddle to the other.... It was sooo funny!
The decision to have or not have sex is always up to the woman. (aside from rape of course). That has not changed regardless of how how society thinks or dictates. Always will be her decision.
No, not when the men have their choice of different partners:

Regards,
men do that all the time.
Why should it be an issue to men when women do what men themselves do?

That sounds like what I hear from divorced women of a certain age who were married, monogamous and raised a family—but didn’t have a great marriage.
“Why should it be an issue to men when women do what men themselves do?”
Simple. It’s the sexual market place. Men who are sexually experienced are highly valued by women - whether we’re talking about women looking for nothing but a sexual hook up or marriage. Men, however, valued sexually experienced women only for sexual hook ups, not marriage.
In many respects, sex is just sex for men. For women sex is a bonding experience which decreases in effectiveness the more partners they have. The chemicals released in the brain which promote bonding actually lessen in effectiveness the more partners a woman has. This is not conjecture. This has been known to scientists for years.
In other words, men and women are different so both can engage in similar behaviors with drastically different results.
