The story goes a few years ago nearby in San Pedro, CA. the homeless were camped out along side an apartment complex and the manager installed a speaker that played Barney’s theme song 24/7. It worked, the bums whined but ultimately left.
But who is buying ???

There was a documentary on Seattle going downhill and the reporter was taking a walk through the homeless on the streets, with a former homeless woman that is now trying to get them help and off the streets.
Reporter: “So they say that 80% of the homeless have an addiction problem. Is that really true!!??”
Woman: “No - that’s not true. It is 100%. I lived here for two years. Everyone here has an addiction problem.”
I believe that was, “Seattle is Dying” - very eye-opening.
There are many reasons people no longer want to buy homes, and that movie highlights some; imagine committing to 30 years of mortgage payments and watching your neighborhood fall apart. You’re bound to payments on something that is losing value quickly, and nobody will want it (never mind thirty years later - it can happen a couple of years after you buy it).
In my area that is happening with Replacement Americans flooding into neighborhoods while apartment buildings are built on any available space (with affordable housing requirements for x% of the units).
