Murkowski is currently the top vote getter in this jungle primary so far - it appears she is getting probably near 100% of the Democrat vote - they are solidifying around her as their top choice over their own party candidates. This is not the best of news to see as far as how things might go in the general if all of the Democrats are going to make her their first choice.

At time of posting just over 50% of the vote in.

I can see the Dem logic. If a state is going to probably vote a Republican in, why not vote for a RINO who votes like a Dem a healthy percentage of the time.

Even if Murkowski doesn’t get 50%, most of the remaining votes are going to the Dem, so Murkowski will get it in the 2nd round.

Sick of it? Steve Deace was wondering art of a team that turned Iowa red. First step, replace primaries with caucuses or caucuses or conventions . Some states do have a law requiring primaries, so that has to go.

If the current House vote holds, the 2 Pubbies, Palin and Begich, will together get 2/3rds of the vote but lose to the Dem. Palin’s in the lead over Begich, who should drop out so they don’t give the seat to the Dem.

At least The Murk will only face one, conservative Pubbie in the general.

The remaining votes come more from Native areas likely to boost Peltola and Murkowski.

Hard to see how Tshibaka can beat Murkowski.

Palin appears favored to win the special but it could be very close.

There’s a very good reason both Alaska and Maine have RCV.

Note to citizens of both states: Want to save your states, see my tagline.

I’m sickened that Murkowski got more votes that Tschibaka. Granted this is just the first round of a race that has two rounds. Hopefully voters for other candidates will rally to the cause of defeating Murkowski. She certainly doesn’t represent Alaska’s interests.

What the hell are Alaskans thinking??

After EVERYTHING Trump did for the Alaskan economy, and how the Vegetable has stopped all of the drilling that brought money into that state! What a bunch of idiots!

Ranked choice voting has got to go away, this is going to do NOTHING but elect Democrats.

There is nothing more dangerous than an ill informed voter. This ballot initiative passed by 1 percentage point in 2020. Thiis was passed on the back of ill informed Republicans.

More results in and Murkowski continues to climb. Assuming she has this level of support in the general she will easily win unless something significant happens to tarnish her personal image - the people who vote Democrat will likely not vote for Tshibaka as their second choice and Murkowski has solidified almost 100% of the non-GOP vote. Let’s acknowledge the reality that in a convoluted primary system like this, the Trump rally served to boost Murkowski the most as it united the opposition to him around her.

More results are in from the Special Election but it is of no consequence - 100% of the vote needs to be in to start counting the second and third choices in order to determine a winner. What a ridiculous system - can’t have any idea at all who wins a race for weeks if not a month after the vote.
