When 30 FBI agents showed up at Mar-a-Lago to cart off boxes of documents, it was an authorized, legitimate and justified procedure to retrieve national security secrets being illegally kept there.
Or it was an unprecedented regime raid on the home and office of the foremost political rival of President Joe Biden that called to mind a "Third World country," the East German Stasi, the KGB or the Gestapo.
And Jan. 6, 2021?
That was a riot, a disgraceful breach of the Capitol, involving assaults on Capitol cops, actions that deserved to be and are being punished.
No, it was more than that. Far more. It was an "insurrection," a "fascist coup," an act of treason led by far-right extremists to abort the transfer of power from the winner of the election of 2020 to the loser. It ranks right up there with the 1814 burning of the Capitol by the British.
Such is the magnitude of the divide in America, a divide that extends far beyond our clashing views of Jan. 6 and the Mar-a-Lago raid.
Consider abortion. Before the 1960s, abortion was almost universally regarded as a shameful and criminal act. Doctors who performed abortions were disgraced and sometimes sent to prison.
But after the Dobbs decision by the Supreme Court declared that Roe v. Wade in 1973 was wrongly decided, restoration of women's right to an abortion is being championed by half the nation.
The other half of America yet believes abortion involves the killing of an unborn innocent child.
Part of America celebrates the Supreme Court's decision to declare marriage equality for homosexuals…

Since that's not going to happen, there will be no living with them. They will not accept live and let live.
Well, hanging a lot of traitors to restore public confidence in the integrity of the justice system would probably be a good start.
“How does America ever come together again?”
I think the only way we ever possibly get back together is if we get a media that tells mostly the truth. They have to be broken completely and the only way that’s going to happen in the reasonably-near future is if Trump gets back in office. He’ll break ‘em this time. (my opinion).
That said, at the moment, if I had to take the over/under on an unbiased Media or Hell freezing over first, I would probably take Hell for 100.
Both sides agreeing to peaceably breaking into separate countries is not going to happen. No way the left will give up the money and power. That doesn’t mean the country won’t break up - it would be bloody.
The judicial philosophy put into practice - that the Constitution is a living, breathing document not subject to original interpretation and that paved the way for a (leftist) federal givernment of unlimited power with unequal application of the law must be given its credit for destroying this country, its families, and its culture.
Trying, then hanging all the traitors
After the Tribulation under the rule of Jesus as Lord.
That is when.
“Where is the common ground on which to stand?”
There is none, and if there is some it’s disappearing faster everyday.
What we have is a dysfunctional, incompatible, abusive marriage. It’s time for a divorce.
Exactly!! There's no reason to think central government can force us to "be together." America wasn't designed that way. Simply remove 90% of funding and power from Fed.gov and let local governments and people themselves decide the nature of their polity.
Here is how America could possibly come together.
- The Democrat party acknowledges that Trump was the rightful winner of the 2016 election.
- The Democrat party acknowledges that January 6 was not an attempted coup orchestrated behind the scenes by Donald Trump.
- The Democrat party acknowledges that Trump and his supporters are not white supremacists.
- The Democrat party bleeds classical voters and supporters to the point where only freaks and tyrants remain.
Alas, Marxists will never admit they are wrong. Not only are they not on the same page as a free society, they are reading from an entirely different book.
President Biden’s Anarcho-Tyranny | Opinion

“The raid on Mar-a-Lago wasn’t about ensuring “no one is above the law.” Were that true, most of Congress and every living president would be in Guantanamo Bay.
This is “anarcho-tyranny”—the weaponzation of law enforcement.”
Last week, federal agents launched an unprecedented raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. The warrant, signed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, demanded the seizure of virtually any document created during his four years in office. To many observers, it reeks of a fishing expedition, which, as Democrat election lawyer Marc Elias said, will likely force Trump to litigate this sorry affair while campaigining in 2024. That, it seems, is the point.
It escaped the notice of few that two days after the raid, Hunter Biden skipped aboard Air Force One with his father for a flight to a family vacation on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, considered the “Hamptons of the South.” The President’s son remains unmolested by federal law enforcement, although he is currently under federal investigation for tax fraud, money laundering, and unregistered lobbying. We now know that Biden père has played a role in several of his son’s shady business dealings.
“No one is above the law,” Trump’s critics say—except, of course, those who are.
This discrepancy in the application of the law is an example of what political theorist Samuel T. Francis coined “anarcho-tyranny” in a 1994 column for Chronicles magazine, referring to “essentially a kind of Hegelian synthesis of what appear to be dialectical opposites: the combination of oppressive government power against the innocent and the law-abiding and, simultaneously, a grotesque paralysis of the ability or the will to use that power to carry out basic public duties such as protection or public safety.” It’s an apt description for what’s happening in the U.S. these days. Today’s anarcho-tyranny expresses itself in the Biden administration’s penchant for selectively enforcing law and order: punishing people for the same or similar offenses differently based on their relationship to the powers that be.

Set your boundaries and maintain them. It uncomplicates your life.
A not unreasonable description of both American ghetto blacks and so called Palestinians, both have been subjected to societal coddling for decades, and indoctrination in the religion of politics which teaches one is owed everything and politics is the mechanism that will deliver heavenly manna and make one happy and functional. The result is the direct opposite. Negroes are today, on balance, far worse people than a century ago and are often stupid, vicious and conscienceless all at the same time.
Amen.
Well said.
True, but if a separation did occur, it would only be a matter of time before the gang of blue states began begging for help from the red states (AKA, the United States of America). Unless they decided to eat the lawyers, their culture of vacuous celebrities, ephemeral social media vanity, sexual deviancy, and thug criminality would quickly result in all of them starving to death. The red states would have the market cornered on agriculture, energy, and transportation. We’d also take the entire land-based nuclear arsenal with us. I think we’d be fine, while the leftists would be begging us for food. We’d just have to wait a little while before we could just walk in and take back their territory. I don’t know what we’d do with them, though; they’re useless.
“Like minded people deserve to have their own political jurisdiction to live in”
That’s partially achieved by our somewhat independent states. Not a bad scheme we have here.
I’ll believe the political landscape will change after the November election. So I’m not too wrapped up in right-now.
God help us.
I hope your right.
How can one get along with anyone who voted for Biden even though he sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl on camera?
Some political positions are beyond any possible reconciliation or compromise. A re-reading of the Declaration of Independence, is very enlightening, in view of the parallels that may be drawn between the situation with the King of England and the American colonies, and the Deep State today and the US citizens who make up the electorate.
There are some US citizens (or more properly, subjects) who are of the belief that the Deep State represents no threat to themselves, but their “enemies” should be put under great limitations as to mobility and expression of opinions.
Then the individuals who recognize the Deep State as the tyranny that it is, must preserve themselves against what is an existential threat, to their livelihood, their amassed share of worldly goods, their freedoms, and even life itself.
