thrust to weight ratio greater then one

Sort of ... technically. I checked, because that didn't seem right to me. According to Wiki (hahahaha) dry weight is 14000lb, and afterburning thrust is 15600 lb. When the F15 was new, much was made of it being the first fighter with thrust/weight greater than 1.

I remember seeing the movies of it then and how they said it was THE first.....This was back when they were first operational. It was basically a rocket with two stubby wings and a T-tail...:0)
