The raid on Trump’s Mar a Lago home was to find a missing copy of the deal Kerry made with the Iranian mullahs to allow them to obtain nuclear weapons capabilities. The Democrats do not want any copies of that agreement in the wild particularly before the mid-term elections.
A smirking Chuck Schumer told us all we needed to know with his 2017 comment, “Our intelligence agencies have six ways from Sunday to get back at their critics.” He thus signaled (1) that our intelligence agencies are mobilized to go after political enemies, and that they have many ways to do this because of their vast powers; and (2) that he was confident that this power would never be used against his side. Everything since then confirms both of those points.

They took 15 boxes previously...They were instructed to add another lock. My conclusion is that what they took had been left behind “with permission”. So the raid was totally unnecessary.
