No plans at THIS time..
I’m sure the People of Walmart will just shop during the daytime. Should make things interesting.
I had no idea they were closing at night.
Can’t see the need for any store being open 24/7.
Unfortunate. It was great to be able to run in there late night and pick up whatever you needed. They must really be hurting for workers. Since the stores are cleaned at night and the shelves are mostly restocked at night, it wasn’t very hard to just keep a cashier or two around so customers could shop - the lights were on anyway.
Because people don’t want to work and Biden and his clown show will pay them not to.
Good for Walmart. Grocery stores need to cut back Holiday hours too. It’s not profitable which means we all pay more so the stupid don’t have to plan ahead.
I’m sure that’s racist.
I thought it was just my city doing that. We have been doing since the “pandemic”
I live in Walmart land. Majority of shoplifting was at night. That’s the reason.
most 24/7 retail stores never made any economic sense to me anyway ... nothing good ever happens after midnight anyway ...
This is lowering the entertainment value of Walmart. After midnight clientele were better than a zoo and clown carnival rolled up together. You could see what wardrobes you’d swear didn’t exists. Now those miscreants will shop before they change costumes before shopping time arrives. I’ve seen outfits that a cop should arrest wandering around in a store after Midnight
It’s a shame.
Pre-covid, 24/7 Walmart and all day breakfast at McDonalds were not just a reality, but becoming expected. The economy was so hot minimum wages were rising and work conditions improving organically as corporations competed for labor, and unemployment as well as labor participation were all at record lows.
There was no magic formula that government stumbled upon to make this happen, it mostly just stood up for American production on the world stage and got out of the way of business.
Never forget what they took from us.
“I went down to the 24-hour grocery. When I got there, the guy was locking the front door.
I said, ‘Hey, the sign says you’re open 24 hours.
He said, ‘Yes, but not in a row.”
― Steven Wright
Darn. I once enjoyed shopping after 11 PM for the free circus freak show.
Now I'm a people person but the store truly brings out the dregs of society.
Guess it makes sense since there aren’t as many people working the hours in which required odd shopping hours. They are all getting paid to not work and stay home.
Had to spring for cable after losing this primary source of entertainment.
People need sleep.
I have seen a lot of stores, shops, restaurants, and eateries change from pre-covid business hours. Dry cleaners, coffee ships, convenience stores, auto repair, retail, etc.
