I live in Virginia Beach and when a brisk wind kicks up suddenly those big beach service rental umbrellas can roll down the beach like a tumble weed. A few years ago, a tumbling beach umbrella impaled and killed some unfortunate bystander just out for a walk.

I’ve spent many hours on ocean beaches and observed that wind-driven umbrellas can definitely be life-threatening. And obviously the higher the wind the greater the danger.
