Hi there! A little more rain this morning, but looks like it will clear soon.

Using the link you gave about Marianne North, I found the YouTube channel for Kew Gardens.

YouTube “Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew”

Looks like a nice channel to explore.

TCP: I was reading a ‘Mary Jane’s Farm’ magazine (April/May 2022) and there was mention of a new book about Marianne North. I had never heard of her, so I started exploring, too.

She really rocked it! A 26 year old woman, traveling the world, no chaperone, and in uptight Victorian dresse of the times. My heroine, LOL!

Goodness: I love remodeling projects - once they’re done! :) We usually have a project going. This year it is power washing (done!) and re-staining the back decks. We also have to do the new railings around the front porch, and some repair work to the porch flooring and get that painted, too. due to Beau’s bear hunting/dog training schedule neither will happen until Fall.

Diana’s Summer Salsa

4 cups tomatoes, seeded and chopped small
1 small green and 1 small red pepper chopped small
1 small sweet onion finely chopped (about 3/4 cup)
1 small Jalapeno pepper, seeded and membrane removed, finely chopped
1 tsp. ground Cumin
1/2 tsp. ground Chipotle (can sub Smoked Paprika)
2 Tbsp. Lime Juice
1 Tbsp. Balsamic Vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Drizzle with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Mix together and enjoy with chips or on anything you like! Add some drops of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce or if you want it spicier, or add a second Jalapeno. Store remainder, covered, in the fridge. Eat within a few days for best flavor/consistency. If it gets ‘wet’ just drain it and add back some EVOO.

Add chopped, fresh Cilantro if desired - I didn’t have any on hand.
