In part, the TMAO effect seems tied to how long TMAO circulates in the bloodstream, and shorter bursts apparently don’t make issues show up, of consequence, according to some analysis I’ve read. However, keeping TMAO from even showing up from foods that should produce it for most people seems to partly come from sometimes pathogenic gut bacteria.
A recent study I may post describes how taurine, an amino acid common in animal-based protein, undoes the damage TMAO starts causing, once in the bloodstream.
Post hoc ergo propter hoc.
Another taxpayer grant ‘study’.
I’m shocked that they ‘came up with something’.
It never ends.
