A historic flour mill in northeast Oregon was destroyed in a fire Wednesday morning.
According to the Associated Press, firefighters initially doused a small fire at the at the Pendleton Flour Mill on Tuesday afternoon, however, it reignited at about 4 a.m. Wednesday.
They say the building was soon fully engulfed because of the dry grain stored in the mill.
There were no reports of injuries.

Meanwhile, I'm sure that I'm not the first to notice that Ore-Ida hashbrowns are TOTALLY exhausted from store stock. They're impossible to find here. Thankfully Winco has its own supply/brand (as I discovered yesterday after a renewed hard target search).
Sabotage????
How does a fire department miss this the reignition potential of a fire?
No more Aunt Jemima pancakes?
Oh, never mind...
They got sloppy, most likely.

Small town stretched thin by field fires caused by lightening or combines (it’s wheat harvest right now).
We had lightening and hail off and on for the last two days.
What food shortage?
When they are told to do so.
Interesting. Never saw anything on that prior. The applications are incredibly numerous. Hmmmm.
Reading up now...

The building was a total loss, the mill is a complex of buildings including grain silos, warehouses, etc. I wouldn’t say the mill is a total loss over one building.
Psst...lightning

Not a bad time to have a Costco membership. They have hash browns in an 8 pack in dried goods. They come in small milk-like cartons, just add water, reconstitute and fry in a a pan. They are very tasty.
Also, I have not eaten Spam since I was a kid in the 70’s, but Costco has cases of Spam and it keeps jumping into my head to by a few cases to prep for Biden’s continued economic performance.
Our grocery stores are frequently running out of biscuits. You know, the canned cook in the oven type! They may have the large package but the 5 count can was out of stock for months.
Biscuits are domestically produced.
Yea I know they are not good for you but we only eat them on the weekends for breakfast.
I recommend Hot & Spicy Spam. My wife really likes a sandwich of a couple of fried slices for breakfast, on white bread with mayo. We always keep 6 or 8 cans in the pantry.
IMHO - There have been far too many recent fires in food processing facilities for it to be anything but arson.
LOL
Those Aunt Jemima Buckwheat pancakes were the yummiest!
YMMV
I just recently rejoined costco for the fuel prices, but I’ve avoided walking into the store to browse save for one time (and I walked out without purchase).
I’ll have to look at that. Thanks!
