What they should do is tow your car down the highway while it’s charging and stick you in the cab of the tow truck, as I doubt people want to go through the trouble of changing into swim trunks every time they charge up their car.
At some point in the near future, you will drive by a Tesla charging station in the middle of nowhere (paid for with your tax dollars) and there will be a crowd of 20 nerds & karens wearing VR headsets fighting imaginary dragons.
Why not a hotel - I hear you may have to wait in a long line to charge your car, plus it takes a while.

So, it is so obvious. Charging stations, no matter how many there are, will never cut it. It is too impractical and time consuming.
The roadways themselves will have to be transformed into chargers. You can already charge cell phones wireless by simply laying them on a special charging station. This technology will have to somehow be embedded within the roadways so the cars are just constantly charging.
Wasteful.
