By some estimates, there are over 100,000 federal laws and regulations that carry criminal penalties. It’s a confusing and tangled mess. So it would have been almost impossible for Obama to not have broken at least one of them, even accidentally, when he was president.
Why didn’t Trump investigate that? Why didn’t he send the FBI to raid Obama’s residence? It’s because Trump is a patriot and a gentleman.
Trump took the high road here. It was not unreasonable for him to expect his successor to do the same. Unfortunately, Trump and the rest of us underestimated the depravity in Biden’s camp.
LOL. That's like Ronald Reagan asking the KGB to raid Yuri Andropov's office.
True that. The FBI was compromised long before Trump took office.
Someone once said to me that with the thousands of laws on the books, both federal and state, it’s almost impossible to get in your car, drive to the market, take a walk across the street and purchase a newspaper, without breaking some law or at least a municipal ordinance.
Running for President while ineligible.
Serving as President in direct violation of the Constitution.
Corrupting EVERY agency of the federal government, stuffing them full of communists.
Obama was born a British subject/Kenyan national, WHEREVER he was born, even if it was the Lincoln bedroom and came back from Indonesia as an Indonesian citizen.
He was NEVER eligible.
Oh, yes. I once went to a talk given by an NRA lawyer. He said just what you said there. There are so many federal and state gun laws on the books that almost every gun owner has broken at least one of them.
A friend went to this talk with me. He scoffed at what this NRA lawyer said. Then the lawyer went down a list of gun laws that some people don’t even know about.
“Oops!”, said my friend. “I committed a felony.”
Yes he is. As of right now they’re coming at him from every which angle! I just pray that the Lord gives him strength because it’s gonna take nerves of steel to survive all the attacks he is going through this morning!🙏🏻
> Uh...what about Lock Her Up? <
That was a campaign slogan of sorts. It was not a criminal investigation, which Trump is evidently facing now.
Yep. I don’t think the Ruskies would do it. 😀😂🤗
Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.
“ The United States is a nation of laws, badly written and randomly enforced.” Frank Zappa
My favorite Zappa quote:
“One of the things taken out of the curriculum was civics. Civics was a class that used to be required before you could graduate from high school. You were taught what was in the U.S. Constitution. And after all the student rebellions in the Sixties, civics was banished from the student curriculum and was replaced by something called social studies. Here we live in a country that has a fabulous constitution and all these guarantees, a contract between the citizens and the government – nobody knows what’s in it...And so, if you don’t know what your rights are, how can you stand up for them? And furthermore, if you don’t know what’s in the document, how can you care if someone is shredding it?”
“Indict a ham sandwich?”
Or he could have just sent the stuff back.
That would have been okay.
Can’t help but wonder if that release from last week where the FBI essentially called about half the country potential domestic terrorists was deliberate because they knew the raid was coming, and what the reaction of millions of people would be.
> Or he could have just sent the stuff back. <
Bingo. If Trump had taken something he shouldn’t have, it was by accident. So just send him a note explaining the situation. And ask for the return of those papers. Trump certainly would have complied.
But as I’m sure you’ll agree, the goal was not to get any papers back. The goal was to embarrass Trump, and maybe even get him arrested.
Old-time Democrat leaders would have been enraged by this. But they’re all gone know, replaced by Maoists who will stop at nothing. Pity the GOP leadership refuses to see this.
He knew what they wanted. They had meetings on this stuff. But evidently, he did not give it back.
His decision. And the Feds decided to call him on it.
> His decision. And the Feds decided to call him on it. <
Are you saying Trump was told ahead of time that he had improperly taken papers, and he refused to return them? That’s news to me. By any chance do you have a link for that?
Read any of the articles about this whole mess.
His staff was discussing it with the Feds. He even “dropped” in on the meeting.
It seems pretty clear there was a list of things they wanted and that Trump refused to give them back.
Is it all classified stuff? Who knows.
If you take the emotion of all of these, Trump could have diffused this months ago. He did not.
