Anne Heche is 'stable' after her Mini exploded when she smashed it into a house in Los Angeles, her ex-boyfriend Thomas Jane has told DailyMail.com.
The 53-year-old actress is 'expected to pull through' but remains intubated in hospital following the horror crash in Mar Vista on Friday morning, he said.
Jane, 53, also paid an emotional tribute to her, saying despite the fact they are no longer together he offers her his 'thoughts and prayers' and credited her 'one of the true talents of her generation'.
It comes after Heche pranged her Mini Clubman on a block of garages around 11am, before speeding off at up to 90mph and plowing straight through a house.
The actress, who also dated Ellen DeGeneres, was spotted on doorbell footage hammering down a residential street before she took out a hedge, slammed through building and her car exploded on impact.
She is understood to have battled scorching heat in the burning vehicle for up to 30 minutes before 59 firefighters arrived to drag her to safety.
Aerial footage also showed her bursting through the straps in a white bag before writhing in pain on a stretcher as she was bundled into an ambulance and rushed to a local ICU.
A picture taken before her first crash also showed Heche with what appeared to be a bottle of vodka in the cup holder of her Mini ahead of the horrific second smash.

Drunk drivers should be shot on site, I had 2 friends killed by those bastards and later on my uncle as well and it’s not like I’m perfect, I had a drinking problem as well in the 1990s, you know, the Clinton crime family was hard to deal with. But not once did I ever get in my car and drive while drinking. I always took cabs, so what the hell is her excuse? It’s a total disregard for the lives of other people.

They have another video of the car speeding. You can hear it long before it shows up.

The la brea accident shows they do explode under extreme circumstances. But for a couple of poles a gas station could have exploded as well

I’m not a firefighter or even a retired one, but those numbers seem to be off quite a bit.
I’ve seen a car go up in flames.
They burn QUICK once they start.
Quick and hot. Thirty minutes in a burning car and you’re dead from toxic fumes inhalation if nothing else.
The house was condemned as unsafe after the accident and fire. The red sticker went up after the accident. The homeowner was at home at the time of the accident.
One news story said they were dealing with multiple situations and one of them was a house with a red sticker
She may not even notice the detoxification process as she deals with the worse ordeal of healing from the burns. It’s fortunate she did not kill or injure anyone else.
