Paul Newman famously said he'd never cheat on his wife because: 'Why go for a hamburger when you have steak at home?' - but a new documentary based on his own family's testimony reveals the rather less wholesome truth, writes TOM LEONARD

Not too many genuinely talented and charismatic movie stars like Paul Newman are left. Tom Cruise could be one but for his crazy cult beliefs.

You have to give kudos to a Hollywood couple who stayed married for 50 years, despite flaws and difficulties.

Paul Newman has passed on. So he is no longer able to defend himself from accusations, both great and small. I’m all for second-guessing historical figures like Caesar and Lincoln. Otherwise let sleeping dogs lie, so to speak.

Because of beliefs his talent and charisma don’t measure up. Or are not genuine. You must be sensing some kind of weird connections that don’t exist.
No cult stuff but I’ve got some crazy notions. How about you?

Paul Newman was a really fine race car driver. Sure he had the money to field the best cars but his skill behind the wheel was fun to see.

I don’t eat salad; I never tried his Newman’s Own salad dressing.
So have no opinion.

Staying married to an alcoholic is insanity. The children would have suffered horribly as did his wife

Because his crazy cult beliefs are a turnoff to me. I tune him out rather than pay attention to his life and career as I do actors like Paul Newman.

According to the story, they already had three daughters; and they did stay married.

Who drinks a six pack of beer for breakfast? A bottle of chardonnay seems more like a breakfast beverage. Wine coolers are good for a hangover.
