Because they will be remembered long after he is forgotten?

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion, or satire, or both.)

He added, “To be fair, I haven’t listened to that much ELP. But what I’ve heard, and I’ve seen backstage, I just don’t like them. I would never doubt the fact that they’re excellent musicians. I don’t like the kind of things [they] did. But the sound on the record is a fine sound. And of the three of them, I like Emerson, mainly because he used to say nice things about us.” I'll bet Phil Collins would hate to hear this but ... this sounds like something Donald Trump would say.

You mean Israel-haters, or at least Roger Waters is.

Phil also tore into McCartney a few years ago. And he was very upset with Led Zeppelin for not preparing for their Live Aid appearance.

Personally, he is an Israel-hater, but I don't know his music. I find PF music ugly, but I read all the words to The Wall and it's pretty Nazi apologist to me.

I think Pink Floyd and Phil Collins are pretty much in the same bracket as far as fame is concerned, just with different people. "The Wall" was one of the worst movies I ever saw. The soundtrack was depressing, too.

And he was very upset with Led Zeppelin for not preparing for their Live Aid appearance. Me too. I was so looking forward to it. Then Robert Plant didn't even know the lyrics and they sounded like a garage band of teens trying to cover Zeppelin tunes for the high school talent show. And Jimmy Page had the nerve to blame it on Collins, of all things.

Well there is a part in it where the character imagines himself as a Nazi-Like ruler, but considering Roger lost his father to the Nazis in WWII, I cannot see him being a Nazi apologist.....now a Communist apologist, absolutely.

Other than In the Air Tonight, for what will Phil Collins be remembered?

I like Collins and Genesis. I like Peter Gabriel’s solo work. None of that holds a candle to the bands Collins dismissed. Sorry Phil.

I’m not a big fan myself. It sounds like music that you would blow ganja to.

LOL....I think he pretty much made the series Miami Vice into one Phil Collins Music Video of all their main hits of the 80’s.
I didn’t know Genesis and Phil Collins from the 70’s but I knew their 80’s stuff ...Tonight, Tonight was my favorite!

I saw both of them live in the 80’s and have to go with Gabriel on live performance. Then again, they did play Phil Collin’s ‘One More Night’ twice at our high school prom...and I went to an almost all-black high school. I guess it’s a toss-up - LOL
