The RAT party slandered, cursed, vilified and attacked Cheney for eight years, and like Romney he attacks the people who defended him and helps the RATS. I’ll never understand people like that.

Dick Cheney is 81, not sure of his mental acuity at this point.

What really drives me nuts about Dick Cheney and his ilk is the fact that we have the democrats burning down the country, literally, in many cases, and they feel like Trump is the enemy? I just saw that the military hosted a “family friendly drag queen event” - yet Trump is the enemy? Biden is driving his fellow Americans into utter poverty with his policies, yet Trump is the enemy? Pelosi and Biden are off trying to start WWIII, but Trump is the enemy? Biden left Cheney’s Afghanistan baby in shambles, not to mention strewn with the bodies of our service members, but Trump is the enemy? I could go on and on. I do not understand these folks (who I was led to believe were on the side of freedom, economic growth and a strong military) looking at everything that is happening and coming to the conclusion that Trump is the enemy. The blindness is Biblical and it’s the only explanation. We live in bizarre times and all I can do is cling to the Cross knowing that God is in control and will bring about His kingdom in due course.

Trump never shot anyone in the face with a shotgun.

What has Dick Cheney or George Bush (both of them) do that would given them the moral high ground to say bad thing about anyone, especially another Republican.

Another case of a RINO running their mouth and acting big - knowing they will anger a lot of people, because they are filthy rich and have absolutely nothing to lose.

That coming from the VP to a president who signed off on trade deals that sent our manufacturing, technology, and wealth to a communist nation.

A least I have the consolation of having voted for Keyes in the 2000 primaries.

There are some States that are ideological outliers (CA, VT, WY, OK) but for the most part States tend to be moderate. And again, I said House and Senate races. YOU were the first one to mention Presidential elections. I never said a moderate Presidential candidate can't win, but they certainly haven't won recently.

To win elections you need to put forth candidates from your party, who can win. People seem to be forgetting the second part of that statement.

“You never picked up a weapon or put your ass on the line, Dick.”

Yet, he’s had a decades-long love affair with wars. He has no problem putting other people’s lives on the line, does he?

Just because you either do not like, or cannot comprehend, my answer does not mean I have not answered the question. You also keep asking about presidential elections when I specifically did not mention them in my original post.

And still no answer to my question, “Why would you choose a “moderate” to win a house or senate race but not a presidential race. What is the logic?”

Again, because the fringe element on either side of the political spectrum, while vocal, do not represent the vast majority of voters across most States. So while people on FreeRepublic can feel good about nominating fringe candidates who win primaries, those same candidates generally will lose to more moderate Dems in the general election. A lot of people around this site are saying they would rather have a Dem in office than a RINO. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Show me a moderate Dem up for election this cycle.
