Germany’s lockdown-loving health minister has reportedly agreed with authorities a package of COVID extremist restrictions to be forced on the population over the next six months.
Forced masking and the use of COVID passes are back on the table for ordinary Germans after the country’s lockdown-loving health minister, Karl Lauterbach, agreed a host of new COVID-crazy measures with his fellow federal bigwigs.
Rumours had been circulating for a while that the EU state would bring back harsh measures over the winter month, with Lauterbach previously comparing possible restrictions to winter tires required in the country for half of the year.

This is just to keep the restless Germans from scrounging for firewood as they freeze to death this winter.

I would think this public figure would be able to afford a couple of crowns/implants. It looks to me like his 2 front teeth aren’t going to last much longer...
Well they won’t have heat this winter anyway. Get as well freeze to death at home.
Sounds like Germany is due for a major revolution and change of government.
Have a quick but fair Nuremberg style trial then let them face the same punishment as the first batch of those who committed crimes against humanity.

Wrong denominator. They are nearly all oldsters. There are 56 million of those.
500/day X 365 = 182,500/year of the 56 million. 0.3% of the oldster population.
500 is a quietly ugly number. We got up to 3500/day during this past winter. The death curve was north of 1000 as late as March. If the upcoming months look anything like last year, we’ll wind up with a full year average in the ballpark of 1500/day. That would be the same 400K for the year.
Which is over 1% of the elderly pop. It’s also the source of about 1.8 years of total population Life Expectancy loss over the past 2 years. We’re at 76.6 now. Another year like last year and we’ll be sub 76.
If you don’t care to live past 75, then you need not care about old folks.
But we may have a different year. There is residual vax. There are some treatments out there, but in the oldster population vax and recovery immunity both have died by now.
We’ll see.

I don’t think you are aware that 77% of people over 65 have hypertension. Only 30% are obese so hypertension exists in most of those people who are not obese.
Hypertension is the #2 Covid comorbidity. Obesity did not even make the top 5. It is #6.
The point being old age is decisive, and since the old generally all have comorbidities, there is no point dwelling on comorbidities as a separate factor. It is old people at risk. Being old is the critical factor.
The young are not at personal risk. But they risk being the source of early death for the old.
Non N95 masks do not work. Vax fails quickly. Only getting away from people works. If the next surge is powerful we will see that lockdown is a very mild measure compared to evacuation of cities.
