This is the equivalent of providing weapons and defense training to a home owner. Russians in this case are the home invaders. Russia is the bad guy.

Only the first is a land grab: The land is taken as one’s own.

The second is called total war: The destruction of the enemy’s forces, infrastructure, and resources, the purpose being to destroy the enemy’s ability to continue the fight. It’s what Sherman did during our Civil War.

I will assume that you accidentally used a period when you meant to use a comma, or else your comment makes no sense.

So, are you saying that before the phrase “total war” was thought up (and again, I am assuming, in this case, that “total war” is the phrase to which you refer), the Mongols took it and destroyed it?

How can that be? How could the Mongols destroy a phrase (or anything, for that matter) before it existed? Because that is what you are saying in that comment.

I read lots of threads and reports and articles; but I don’t think I’ve seen any that said Ukraine is “winning.” I’ve read some that said it is holding its own, but most say it will be a long fight that will end up with Russia occupying parts of Ukraine and having to deal with a long and bloody insurgent war.
