Your post sounds a little like a rehash of the “it’s her fault for dressing that way” defense...
We understand our Department of Justice is failing to protect Americans. But this was a Grand Jury that decided to reduce the charges from Murder to Involuntary Manslaughter. A clear sign of a shift in the citizenry towards justice. Troublesome.

If someone points something that looks like a gun at me and shoots something at me with it, I might not shoot that person, but I’m not going to just sit there and laugh about it, either. A gun is a different thing than a dress.
I didn’t say he deserved to be killed. But maybe his mom or dad should have beaten him a couple of times. It might have saved his life.
FWIW, I doubt they could have proven murder.
Manslaughter works for me as long as they throw the book at them and get convictions.
If the DA had overcharged, that would have guaranteed acquittals.
They intended to kill him. They did. So they are guilty of murder. It's that simple.
As it is, if a light-skinned person is being approached by a dark-skinned person(s), it is reasonable for the light-skinned person to believe that the dark-skinned person(s) is intent on killing them, that their death is imminent, and they had best be using whatever means they can procure and deploy to eliminate the threat.
'Cause that's what it be like now.
