Since she wasn’t at risk things will not go well for her.
I suggest you read the third paragraph over again. Sheesh.
Too bad because I cannot fault the judgement only lement that the situation is what it is.
“Since she wasn’t at risk things will not go well for her.”
One of the perps pulled a gun on her. Of course, he will claim he pulled it in self-defense. It’s Chicago, so he’ll walk and she won’t.
“Since she wasn’t at risk things will not go well for her.”
Read the story, hers was the second gun in it.
She was stupid to confront the group, but if as the article said one of the group brandished a handgun, then she was justified in defending herself.
Since she was in Chicago things wont go well for her..IMO.
A gun was pointed at her. WTF?
One of the ‘men’ brandished a handgun. That was enough for me.
Even if a pistol had not been brandished by one of the men, there were four or five of them. If if there were only one, she was in danger of serious bodily harm. And she had the right to confront a man trying to steal her car.
So she has the right to shoot one male threatening her in any way and/or acting like he’s going to hurt her. In essence, to save his own life, he should leave upon being confronted.
Will it work out in court for her? Depends on the neighborhood and judge or jurors.
"One of the men brandished a handgun, but the woman, who possesses a valid concealed carry license, fired her gun and struck the 13-year-old in the neck, police said.
She was at risk. It sounds like she might have hit someone other than the one with the handgun.
Sounds like she was at risk. They waved a handgun at her. She had a reasonable expectation that they might use it.
“One of the men brandished a handgun”
It’s a good shoot on her part.
Story said one of the BGs pulled a gun on her.
She was in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury.
Good shoot.
One of them pointed a gun at her, but, still, it is Illinois.
One of the members of the gang brandished a gun.
...One of the men brandished a handgun, but the woman, who possesses a valid concealed carry license, fired her gun and struck the 13-year-old in the neck, police said.
What part of "brandishing a handgun" means she was not at risk?
Stealing a car is as stealing a horse was in the old West.
The Victim is left at peril one way or another.
Hanging offence for the perp.
Sorry dude, you axed for it.
One of the men brandished a pistol at her.
Since the boy wasn’t the one with the gun, yeah, she’s going down.
Maybe she was aiming at the gunman, but she hit the boy instead.
It won’t matter. She’s toast.
In Illinois, the State statutes for self defense are very explicit.
She would be happy & relieved to know that you have proclaimed her safe from harm...
The gun the little punk produced was certainly not the remotest problem...
