The endorsement that has loomed over the Republican race for Michigan governor has come in.
Tudor Dixon announced late Friday that former President Donald Trump endorsed her for governor.
“It is a great honor to receive President Trump’s endorsement and have the strength of our campaign to defeat Gretchen Whitmer further affirmed by his support,” Dixon said in a statement released late Friday.
In the last poll before the primary, Dixon was leading the other candidates, coming in at 19%. But it was a narrow lead, and more than 30% of Republican votes hadn’t decided who they were going with.
The Trump endorsement stands to push Dixon ahead even further heading into Tuesday’s election.
“When I met Tudor Dixon, she was not well known, but I could tell she had something very special – it was a quality that few others have,” Trump stated. “She delivered a powerful speech on how she would lead Michigan, fight for Election Integrity, turn around the Economy and protect the future of Michigan for every child. Then, after recognizing her during my Rally speech in April, her campaign took off like a rocket ship. The great people of Michigan got it – just like did. Tudor Dixon will make a great Governor and has my Complete and Total Endorsement.”
Along with the endorsement from former President Trump, Dixon has also earned other endorsements, including: the Police Officers Association of Michigan, Right to Life of Michigan, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, the Associated Builders & Contractors of Michigan, the DeVos family, former Governor John Engler, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, U.S. Representatives Lisa McClain, Bill Huizenga and Tim Walberg, former Lt. Governor Dick Posthumus and over 20 Michigan legislators.
You are wrong. He needs MI.
Point out where I said Trump doesn’t need Michigan, please for credibility sake.
You raised a concern why Trump didn’t endorse anyone sooner.
I pointed out that the Petition case was just decided in the Michigan Supreme Court and Trump didn’t know who would actually be on the ballot.
Also, his ex-wife died and delayed not Trump rallies but Trump waited for many endorsements until after the funeral.
Where do you get “Trump doesn’t need Michigan” from that?
“Delayed not just rallies” it should have said.
His ex-wife dying was 2 weeks ago. He endorsed in GA and AZ months before those primaries. The reason he waited this long is, she may be a RINO.
I don’t want to revel in resentment of DeVos but note her betrayal of Trump and “wishy washy” approach to the serious matters related to education in this country.
I’m a great religious hypocrite so why get angry about DeVos and her shortcomings.
But I’m convinced we need stronger people than Betsy DeVos in positions of authority at this time ready to act in meaningful ways to reverse what is wrong.
Saw her on The Ingraham Angle the other night. She seemed pretty good.
Easy on the eyes.
She already is something in life: Christian, mother, gubernatorial candidate, conservative, endorsed by President Trump.
Well played, Mr. President.
Now, it's up to the voters....and to the poll watchers in Michigan.
People rag on Trump’s picks, I think in those cases Trump’s choices were between the bad choice, and the even worse choice.
That’s the way life is.
Those two elections were stolen just like President Trump's election.
In 2018, I was suckered into voting for Raffensperger. At the time, I couldn't decide between him or David Belle Isle. They were both from the same part of Georgia and had similar backgrounds. So I picked wrong.
I wish I had noticed that that snake, Raffensperger, got his BA from a University in Ontario, Canada.
Don’t apologize for reveling in resentment.
Think Boston Tea Party, Liberty Bell and the American Revolution. Each began, rang out, and fired up, with plenty of reveling in resentment.
For good reasons, resentment is patriotism. Whoever revels most, loudest and best, Wins. 😉
Revel away.
True. I meant when they named her. Sorta tongue and cheek.
Do you need to be walked through this??
Three candidates that were removed from the ballot because of their false Petitions files a suit………James Craig was the last one the Supreme Court of Michigan rules on, just 3 days ago.
How can Trump endorse anyone when the list of Candidates is unknown?
That fact that Trump waited to see if Chief Craig was going to be on the Ballot or not makes me wonder if he was going to endorse Craig.
But, like everyone else (it seems) since Craig is on ballot the second choice is Tudor.
You wanted Trump to endorse invisible people? Or wanted Trump Not to consider Chief Craig? Is that what you’re saying?
There’s something I bet most people didn’t know, a Canadian degree……wow thanks.
Well, we all know that Canada is American lite.
