BREAKING: Trump to Sue CNN, Other Media Outlets for Defamation
PJ Media ^ | 7/27/2022 | Matt Margolis

Posted on 07/27/2022 1:27:11 PM PDT by Signalman

“I have notified CNN of my intent to file a lawsuit over their repeated defamatory statements against me,” Trump said in a statement received by PJ Media. “I will also be commencing actions against other media outlets who have defamed me and defrauded the public regarding the overwhelming evidence of fraud throughout the 2020 Election. I will never stop fighting for the truth and for the future of our Country!”

Trump has long maintained that, if not for widespread election fraud, he would have won the 2020 election, and the mainstream media (which also pushed the false claims that Trump was a Russian asset who stole the 2016 election) quickly dubbed Trump’s claims as false and insisted that the 2020 election was the most secure election in history despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Last September, a forensic audit of the 2020 presidential election vote in Maricopa County, Ariz., found 53,214 ballots impacted by irregularities of medium, high, and critical severity. Joe Biden’s state-certified margin of victory was only 10,457.

Last March, a judge ruled that Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson violated state law in 2020 by unilaterally changing absentee ballot rules. “The presumption is found nowhere in state law,” State Court of Claims Judge Christopher Murray wrote in his ruling. “The mandatory presumption goes beyond the realm of mere advice and direction, and instead is a substantive directive that adds to the pertinent signature-matching standards.” The illegal changes produced a record number of absentee votes, estimated to be 5.5 million, in a state Biden won by a mere 154,188 votes.

n Georgia, where Joe Biden’s state-certified margin of victory was only 11,779, there’s evidence that there were potentially 35,000 illegal votes and thousands more violated chain-of-custody laws.

the drop boxes and cheating might have been exposed and in some places restrained but it’ll be back.

Trump should sue on the basis of defamatory insurrection claims.

The whole 2020 Election fraud could be argued in Court over this.

^^^^^ What Jim W N said. And thanks to True The Vote and other hard working folks, there is now a ream of evidence that CNN and other defendants will be forced to refute in an actual TRIAL. And it’ll all be on the record.

A risky and expensive undertaking — but Trump’s got the guts and the money to pull it off.

I just hope he has learned from past mistakes and puts together a GOOD legal team this time! Not another Wood-Powell-Giuliani clown show.

“Decisive fraud? Doubtful”

When CNN refuses to even present another side of the story the other side exist, maybe.

“I respect the opinions of those here who want to keep fighting over the past - but I think it’s an ego-driven mistake.”

I unfortunately I have lost respect (not that it means much) of those Freepers who think that we or he should keep his mouth shut about an obliviously stolen election.

You do realize him speaking up about it has brought change? You do realize that the country is going to hell in a hand basket because of this theft. You do realize that he is the most powerful Republican with the biggest voice?

Laws are changing, fraud is being exposed, poll watchers are signing up by the tens of thousands, everything will be suspect, RINOs being challenged and exposed, him speaking up has brought positive change.

Those that surrender (want us to shut up) to this theft and the destruction of America are misguided. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

I bet you have an easy time reconciling respect and rejection. But it only works in your head.

Thomas said he wants the Supreme Court to change this... Maybe this lawsuit will get that far.

I don’t know if he can, but I’d like to see him sue the J-6 Committee, and have a court let him present his defense since the committee won’t call anyone on his behalf. So many Americans believe that he is guilty because they want him to be guilty.

Meanwhile the GOP Senate just rolled over and passed the chip bill.

Which is outrageous! The chip companies caused this crisis by moving their manufacturing capabilities oversees for cheaper labor. Now they get government bucks to solve the problem they created.

This meant that public officials could only win a defamation suit when the statement was published with the actual intent to harm the public figure. Actual malice only occurs when the person making the statement knows it is not true or has a reckless disregard for whether it is true.

So, how does this work when the commie networks claim they merely reported on what Hillary, the DNC, FBI, CIA and AG told them. E.g., CNN didn't initiate the Trump Russian collusion story, they merely reported what Hillary, the DNC and other sources were saying.

Is it "malicious" when a news network reports fake news from a "2nd hand source" ?

I think Trump will find it difficult to sue CNN for defamation. If he loses his suit, it will embolden the TDS networks.

You are one of those who think you can have it both ways. Appease by saying yeah there was cheating but it didn’t effect the outcome. Well that is BS. The cheating was targeted at every swing state and it sure as hell did rig the election. You are probably a GOPe never Trumper.

I don’t know if he can sue as a public person but the second half of that is interesting. What if we, as representatives of the public who were harmed by their constant defamation might have a chance. As to proving hard....inflation, gas prices, loss of safety. Maybe we should join his suit
