Not if it was in a decaying orbit...which is more likely that not.

But the moon has no atmosphere enough to cause orbital decay. So it has to be aliens!!!!

Then that suggests it was in orbit around the moon and not the earth, or in an orbit around the earth at a greater distance than the moon or it flew across our solar system and made impact on the other side of our orbit around the sun.
