Since it hit on the far side of the moon, doesn't that mean it was heading the other way? Not if it was in a decaying orbit...which is more likely that not.

Then that suggests it was in orbit around the moon and not the earth, or in an orbit around the earth at a greater distance than the moon or it flew across our solar system and made impact on the other side of our orbit around the sun.
I think it’s aliens. ;)
