The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Have fun with today’s CG puzzle.
Today is a very special “Marvelous Monday” for me. I am at a week-long 🎶Music🎶 festival/workshop. And I want you all to participate in an experiment. Listen to the following two-minute sound file, all the way through, with your eyes closed, and tell me what it makes you feel deep down in your soul. Be serious with your answers, (well everyone except Magnum44 who is exempt from that rule for obvious reasons 😉). I will share your answers with my group this evening. You can private message your answer if that will be more comfortable for you.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
Must have played it a million times in church.
That said, I know two tunes; one is the Star Spangled Banner and the other one isn’t.
Before Hal, you had to solve the CG with pen, yes pen, and paper.
I think it’s still the best way, to it esp if you’re at work. You simply copy and print out the CG, and then do it on paper.
But when you’re in bed on your Ipad or Mac etc. Hal is oh so convenient.
PS-would you like to get on our PING list? :-)
Well, Apple, to be honest, listening to Gabriel’s Oboe, instilled really nothing special in me other, than it is a gentle song that describes gentle, unassuming people like you, who have big hearts and big smiles when they get up and when they go to bed....
So, I went ahead and looked it up and found out that it’s a piece written by Ennio Morricone for the movie The Mission, which I’ve never seen.
Jeremy Irons plays Father Gabriel.
Here’s the scene.

When you watch it, then you really the soothing effect the piece has.
.....the soothing effect the piece has, and also from listening to it the second time, you actually pick up the haunting and soulful melody.
Now, you got me wanting to listen to it again, and watch the movie.
I will add too, that I think the tune, will ignite emotions differently with age. In your later years, like I’m in, it’s tranquillity, calm, Christ-like, without conflict that we want.
I think Trump should play this before his rallies, and for sure before addressing the media.
I never saw The Mission. I think I must have been deployed overseas when it cam out. Are you recommending it?
Your 2 minute music score makes me want to go for a walk in the woods.
Well, I thought of Monk walking the beach with Trudy’s daughter, whom he had just recently met. Sundance played the Monk series today, and I had just watched the last 2 episodes.
I’d very much appreciate being on the ping list.
I’ll tell you this though; when I used to shun HAL I would solve the puzzle entirely in my head remembering what each letter stood for and writing nothing down. Now that used to be a mental workout!
Then, I tried HAL and it felt like I was cheating.
Have you solved The Zodiac Killer’s Z13 (My name is ...)?
nikos,
The first time I heard Gabriel’s Oboe it was played on a violin, and it literally brought tears to my eyes, I was so moved by it. It made me feel like I was souring and the looking at something so beautiful that my eyes could barely comprehend what it was but, it caught me up and I soured with it. But that’s what music does to me… no matter what, I feel some kind of deep emotion. Hip Hop makes me angry or disgusted, Bluegrass fiddle toons almost always make me feel happy and carefree.
First time I heard Gabriel’s Oboe I had no idea who wrote it or why, so I too looked it up. I have now listened to it on various different instruments, but the one that moves me the Most is on the Cello….. https://youtu.be/RnMHrVN99b4
I deliberately linked you first to just the sound file, no images so you would hear/see just the music alone. Thank you for your feedback.
