The Christian missionaries used to (still do?) get argued against for attempting to bring these primitive people Christianity and also education, etc.
There is a fine line perhaps in keeping one’s culture alive while also trying to survive.
Les Stroud (Survivorman) did a series called “Beyond Survival” where he documented dwindling cultures due to drought, expansion of modern culture, etc. He did a good job I think in balancing the admiration of their cultures, but also the reality that they weren’t going to survive for various reasons (kids going off to the cities, poor crops, etc.). He viewed his filming as a way to document these cultures before they went extinct.
They appear to be Turkana tribe, not Maasai. The Maasai women’s dress doesn’t have the same neckwear.
