What does Mao's Long March have to do with Joe Biden's America?
The original Long March refers to a maneuver, a retreat actually, by the communist Chinese during their revolution in the 1930s. The March was a grueling affair. It lasted over a year. Ninety percent of the troops which started were winnowed away before the end. Mao cemented his control of the party in the process.
Socialists and communists have used the Long March as a metaphor ever since to inspire monumental efforts for the cause. One of those who employed the image was a German communist, Rudi Dutschke, who proposed a Long March Through the Institutions. He envisioned laying the foundation for an eventual communist revolution in the West by slowly gaining control of the institutions of the capitalist world; political, cultural and educational. Once the time was ripe, the revolution would be ignited and steered from these citadels of power.
Sound familiar? This strategy has been implemented over the past few decades, and somebody must’ve judged the time ripe. Because, it sure looks like a revolution has been kicked off around here. Except that the Red Guards aren’t just roaming bands of fanatical students. If you’re suspected of harboring incorrect thoughts, let alone voicing them, the mob howling for your blood draws numbers from the media, corporate HR, congress, as well as academia.
On the surface, this sounds like a good strategy. Woke corporations have a stranglehold on the financial well-being of the people. The lapdog media shelters the public from all but the proper narrative, which changes as needed. Activist academicians indoctrinate the children, teaching them what to think, not how to think. Article is So true. I think the West was ripe for subversion because we enshrined freedom and we actually believed the Bullshot that all speech/ideas is equal and worthy of respect due to classical liberalism. Such as the 1st amendment in this country.
Those ideals fall on their face in a pile of dog poo when said ideas and speech ferment socialism/communism which earnestly desire to to eliminate freedoms. Consider it…one should have the freedom to end all freedom? No, freedom should not be infinite. One should not have unlimited freedom to say kill others or have freedom to speak to end others freedom of speech.

I have long thought that one of the ways to identify a Liberal is to watch them with a toolbox. If they just reach in and grab the first tool they find to try to do a job, they are a Liberal.
From the article, I also note that as the Left gained control of social institutions in America, Americans apparently gained dependence on these institutions. Public education should have ended long ago, but that Americans use it as daycare.

First Amendment does not say all speech/ideas are worthy of respect or equal.
Before the Long March happened and before Dutschke was born, the Ialian Communist Antonio Gramsci advanced his theory of the Cultural Hegemony of the bourgeois.
Gramsci argued the necessity to overthrow the same by co-opting the institutions of that hegemony through infiltration in order to successfully advance the revolution.

IMO it became over-emphasized to the point it allowed subversive thought to enter universities etc.
