Civil disturbances are a very different category from major nuclear powers' unprovoked invasions of smaller neighbors.
Plus, the U.S. has provided aid to victims in such civil disturbances.
What's at stake in both Ukraine and Taiwan is the dominance of western democratic values over old-time thug-ocracies.
If the thug-ocrats win this one, then we are right back to the world of 1938 or 1939.
