Armie Hammer has been “cut off” from the family dynasty established by his great-grandfather, Armand Hammer.
“His dad won’t help him anymore and he’s been cut off, so he got to work,” a source told People of the actor who is reported to be working in the Cayman Islands as a timeshare salesman.
While the well may have run dry for Armie following the “cannibal” scandal that landed him in rehab, the Hammer family continues to live high on the hog thanks to great-grandad Armand establishing himself as a billionaire oil tycoon in the 1950s with Occidental Petroleum, running the company from 1957 until his death in 1990.

**They didn’t even bother to include the part where they owned Senator Gore (Al’s dad) lock, stock and barrel.**
Back in the early 60s my dad was at a big livestock auction in Denver (I think). They were auctioning bulls and a high bidder for a bull from a ranch owned by Mr Hammer. The buyer:
Mr. Al Gore Sr.
Way back in the 70s I bought Oxy stock in hope of this panning out.

It didn’t. IIRC, I broke even on the stock.
He ran afowl of Big Baking Soda. He lucky, usually that gets you killed.
Oh, I remember that! And was just thinking about Sean Flynn, son of Errol.
There were occasional questions about how “inside” Armand was with the Ruskies but he stayed clean in those matters. The very name of his company “Occidental” implies a western influence and he was a big factor early on in “westernizing” central Europe. There’s no doubt that our early intelligence agencies kept in touch with him simply because he knew how to deal with the eurotrash crowd. He was a factor in making the Marshall plan work. I expect you could find that he was at least instrumental in helping Ivan develop the Caspian oil reserves. I recall Occidental being a force in the area before Standard, Shell, Texaco, and the rest.
Occasional questions ? If it wasn’t for the fact the old man was a hardcore Soviet Revolutionary over here, Armand would have never gotten in with Lenin, Stalin & Co. To say he “stayed clean” is ludicrous, given how unbelievably evil that regime was, and he was quite literally their personal capitalist and trying to buy/spread influence all over the world. He was absolutely a key leader and played a substantial part of the 20th century Deep State that has caused incalculable damage to destabilizing the U.S. to where we are today.
BTW, Hammer was also the “puppetmaster” to my state’s Senator Albert Gore, Sr., and attempted to help install Al Gore, Jr. as President (along with trying to leverage control of the Republican party as well). The George Soros of his time.
Thank you. Other posters on this thread have been sanitizing his role in helping the Soviet regime stabilize itself. He was disgusting.
It’s better that “Armie” not get any of that Hammer family money, because it was ill-gotten, dirty and evil.
So, no “Lone Ranger 2” then?
Next we’ll be hearing what a stand up guy was Alger Hiss.
I recall that Armand Hammer was a typical “wealth and power for me but not for thee” communist.
At one of my former employers, we had a “trust fund grand baby” who worked as a delivery van driver. It turns out that there was a stipulation that for him to get his annual distribution from said trust fund, he had to produce pay stubs and a W-2 that proved he was working a full-time job.
He was a nice guy, and did his job with no complaints or sense of entitlement.
The only thing out of the ordinary was that on a 15.00/hour salary he drove a loaded to the gills F-150 and his stay at home mom wife drove a loaded Grand Cherokee.
He was never a headliner, but a minor character actor. He didn’t need to make a serious effort and likely pidgeoned into minor parts forever.
That was all right when he had the trust fund behind him.
Yeah that’s the first thing that comes to mind with him, is dealing with the Russians.
